Everyone asks, "How did you choose her name and what does it mean?" The breeder choose the litter theme as "blue", so her registered name had to include the word "blue", as well as begin with the kennel name "Crescent" . My personal theme is to name my dogs after Jimmy Buffet songs. So, for this pup, I needed a song title that included the word Blue or the theme of Blue. I spent one night going through all my JB CDs (almost every one recorded). Which, of course, required a blender full of margaritas. There were two songs that fit, but I choose "Blue Heaven Rendezvous". The song is about aging hippies meeting at a biker bar in Key West that is a popular "clandestine" meeting place for locals (see picture above). I also liked the reference to Heaven because it acknowledges my faith and I feel like Dezzie is an answer to a prayer as she filled empty spaces in my life. The song talks about type "A" people that burn the candle at both ends, and while I was never a hippie, I do live a "driven" life and I have seen my 4th 39th birthday, so it is representative of me. There are several references in the song that have special meaning and sparked my interest in subtle humor. I am learning to slow down and enjoy the little things in life, like good dogs and great friends. AND, I've promised Dezzie that we will jump in a convertible and drive to Key West, one day very soon.
